BENGALURU: In death, four-year-old Jagath H N Gowda gave life to four people.
Jagath originally hails from Mandya and had been studying in a school in Coimbatore for a year since his father’s transfer.

He was in the city to visit a relative. He fell from the second-floor balcony of the relative’s house in Mariyappana Palya on Christmas day and suffered severe head injury. The incident occurred in Jnanabharati police limits. 

After being treated in a nursing home, Jagath was shifted to BGS Global Hospital in Uttarahalli. After 10 days he was declared brain dead on Monday at 11.40pm. 

While both his kidneys were transplanted to a man in BGS Global, the liver went to a patient in Narayana Health, corneas went to a patient in Narayana Nethralaya, his heart beats in Chennai as it was transported to Fortis Malar Hospital. 

Jagath is the son of Nithyanand, an engineer, and Rupa M K, a homemaker. His maternal uncle said, “He was studying in LKG in a school in Coimbatore for a year. His parents are still in Bengaluru and are devastated.”

A green corridor was created for the heart to travel 50 km to KIA from BGS Global Hospital in 44 minutes between 9 am and 10:30 am on Tuesday.
