Bengaluru girl dies after fake suicide attempt turns fatal

In a freak incident, an 18-year-old girl studying pursuing a pre-university course, died when she tried to fake a suicide.

BENGALURU: In a freak incident, an 18-year-old girl studying pursuing a pre-university course, died when she tried to fake a suicide in front of her parents by hanging. The incident took place in Byatarayanapura on Wednesday evening.

The girl Keerthana was upset after she was questioned by her parents about coming back home late after the classes. Keerthana threatened her parents that she would commit suicide if they go on with their interrogation on the matter. However, her attempt to fake a suicide by hanging resulted in her death.

Keerthana was the daughter of Ramesh, a businessman. She was studying in a private college on Mysore road.

The police said that the incident took place at their house around evening after she returned home from the college. Reportedly, Keerthana returned late after attending classes regularly and she was questioned over this.

Upset over this, she tried to hang herself in front of her parents. They rushed her to a private hospital but she was declared brought dead. Byatarayanapura police are investigating the case.
