BENGALURU: Bengaluru City traffic police booked 18,759 cases of traffic rule violations at the select zero-tolerance junctions in the city between January 1 and January 15.

At ten designated spots, officials booked 7,649 spot fine cases, 8,110 field traffic violation(FTVR) cases and 3,000 cases against errant motorists at Traffic Management Centre. These 10 zero-tolerance junctions include  Sadashivanagar police station junction, Shivanananda junction, N R Junction, Cauvery Arts and Crafts junction, Urvashi junction, Cubbon Road, Trinity Road, Old Madras Road, Sony World and ISRO junction.

Police officials said zero-tolerance junctions have been identified based on the volume of vehicles and road accidents. Besides extra CCTVs, additional traffic police personnel have been deployed at these spots to check traffic violations.
