BENGALURU: A 30-year-old software engineer of a multinational company jumped to death from the fourth-floor cafeteria of her office building in Bengaluru this morning even as shocked fellow employees watched.
Police named her as Shobha Lakshmi Narayan, a resident of Rajajinagar. She was employed as a senior engineer in an MNC located at Whitefield.
According to police, Shobha Lakshmi Narayan reached her office around 8.30 am and logged in. At around 9.20 am, she went to the cafeteria on the fourth floor of the building and suddenly jumped from the window, eye-witnesses said. Fellow employees rushed her to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
The Whitefield police have registered a case and are investigation the suicide.
Police said that reason behind the act is not known. "We have contacted Shobha Lakshmi Narayan’s family. The body was taken for a post-mortem procedure," an officer said.
