BENGALURU: The city’s first day-long car boot sale was held at Sirur Park, Malleswaram, here on Saturday. Prashanth Nayak, one of the organisers, told Express that he was motivated by flea markets and he, along with another business partner, decided to start a car boot sale in Bengaluru.

“Our aim was to get support from entrepreneurs and other companies, and we charged only `1,000 for each stall. It was only a one-day sale,” Prashanth said.

He got the idea from his sister last year, he said. Interestingly, many Bengalureans participated though they were first-timers. There were many handmade products and homemade foods that participants brought with them. Most importantly, they were affordable. “We focused on families, business people, entrepreneurs and NGOs,” Prashanth said.

Dipitha Shayan, one of the exhibitors, said, “It is a nice platform to interact with different people. It is a wonderful opportunity for entrepreneurs. There was a lot of positive response from the public.”
