Cops get custody of Nagaraj for three more days

BENGALURU: Former corporator Nagaraj and his two sons were handed over to Hennur police custody for three days.
Police on Monday brought Nagaraj and his sons to a city court seeking permission to keep him in their custody further to interrogate him on the demonetised currency seized from his house.

Hennur police told the court, “We need to make more arrests in this case and have to take Nagaraj to Tamil Nadu for further investigations.”

The court accepted the plea and granted three more days of custody.  

Three other cases have been registered in Kengeri police station against Nagaraj for allegedly extorting money.

His wife Lakshmi was also questioned by the police.

Nagaraj was in tears as the court accepted police plea for further custody.  

Kengeri police and Srirampura police have also asked the court hand him over to their custody as there are other cases pending against him in the respective police stations.
