Three die as constable poisons himself, family in Bengaluru

Police said that the incident came to light when Koresh, Subash’s elder brother, knocked on their door repeatedly but got no response.

BENGALURU: A police constable poisoned himself and his family members at their house in police quarters in Hegdenagar. While the wife Veena (28), their daughter Manya (3) and son Pruthvi (2) died, Subash (38) is critical. The reason behind this step is yet to be ascertained.

Subash is a constable at City Armed Reserve headquarters on Mysore road in the city. The family hailed from Hagaribommnahalli in Bellary district

Police said that the incident might have taken place during the late hours of Monday night. It came to light when Koresh, Subash’s elder brother, knocked on their door repeatedly but got no response. He then broke open the door and found the family lying unconscious. They were rushed to a private hospital in Hebbal.

Three of them were declared brought dead while Subhash is in ICU. He left no suicide note. His brother told the police that financial problems might have led Subash to take the step.
