BELAGAVI: Transport minister H M Revanna has said that the much-awaited electric buses will soon hit Bengaluru roads. Replying to a question by Congress member N A Haris in the Assembly, Revanna said the government is working on reducing vehicular pollution and electric buses are the best alternative. Electric buses will be introduced soon by BMTC.
Pointing out that he had recently visited Gujarat for a conference on electric automobiles, he said it was very helpful in getting valuable knowledge on the use of alternative fuel vehicles.
He said that now the government is determined to introduce electric buses and is identifying charging points to charge the batteries which power the buses. To another question, he said the government is planning to extend the free bus pass facility for students between Classes 1 and 7 up to Class 10.
