Advocates found cattle locked inside

BENGALURU: A team of court commissioners and NGO members that had gone to inspect illegal abattoirs in Chikkabettahalli, Yelahanka New Town, was attacked on Tuesday evening. This committee got information from two activists of an NGO that 25-30 cattle were illegally detained for slaughter in Chikkabettahalli. Based on this, public prosecutor Rachaiah, Harish, Prasanna along with the women activists, visited the spot.

Police sources said, “The committee noticed the cattle were illegally detained in a garage, 200 metres away from the slaughter house. When the team went there, it was locked but they could hear animal sounds. When the team asked to open the lock, the locals gathered and warned the officials to leave.” One person tried to attack the women but police intervened and escorted them to the car, But the car was attacked. That’s when police shifted the women to a Hoysala patrol vehicle
