Tenth edition of Biffes to begin tomorrow

The 10th edition of BIFFES, the Bengaluru International Film Festival, will be held from February 22 to March 1.

BENGALURU: The 10th edition of BIFFES, the Bengaluru International Film Festival, will be held from February 22 to March 1. Organised by Government of Karnataka by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and Department of Information and Public Relations, the opening event will be held in the presence of national and international delegates, film makers and film celebrities on February 22. 

The festival has grown at 35 per cent every year. The theme of the festival this year is “Human rights and social justice”. The screenings will be held at 11 screens at Orion Mall, Rajajinagar. The delegate pass costs `600 and passes for students and seniors cost `300.

The Young Karl Marxby Raoul Peck, 2017, 118 min.
At the age of 26, Karl Marx embarks with his wife Jenny on the road to exile. In Paris in 1844, they meet young Friedrich Engels, son of a factory owner, who's studied the sordid beginnings of the English proletariat, and brings Karl Marx the missing piece to the puzzle that composes his new vision of the world. Together, between censorship and police raids, riots and political upheavals, they will preside over the birth of the labour movement.

This thriller follows sisters Jessica and Sophie who have remained in their family home even after they witnessed their parents' murder there, as small children. Now, 20 years later, learning that the killers will be paroled, Sophie begins to suffer blackouts during which she commits unspeakable acts. Is a vengeful spirit to blame?
