BENGALURU: Papabambino is a web portal that provides all the relevant information about pregnancy, childbirth, child care and parenting from a father’s perspective. This online venture was started by Neeraj K Raheja and was launched in December 2017. The website gives an insight into parenting and also speaks about the how a father’s role in parenting is significant in the overall growth and development of the child.
His personal experience motivated him to start the website and this is what helped him provide for tips on the portal. Neeraj says, “I was very happy when I heard that I was becoming a father. We did not have an extended family to help us, so we had a tough time. I had lot of doubts about safe parenting, pregnancy and had stressful days. It was then that I started sourcing information from websites. Later, I decided to start Papabambino, and started updating all relevant information that a father needs to know.”
Papabambino stands for ‘papa’ meaning father, and ‘bambino’ means baby in Italian, which represents father and child. He says, “My target audience comprises parents of newborns, married couples, and also active parents who have children in the age bracket of 3-10 years.”The website motivates men to be supportive partners during their partner’s pregnancy, it also tells them how they can provide mental support to their spouses during this period. It also provides information about what should be the contribution of the couple for the wellbeing of child, and how it impacts the growth of the child.
His next initiative is to educate parents and couples about the finer nuances of parenting, and also to create a support group for new-age parents of nuclear families, where they can reach out to him for guidance in all aspects of child care and parenting. He also plans to launch Papabambino exclusive stores, with unique service-oriented features attached to every outlet.
“A lot of information has been compiled in ‘The Papa’s Column’ on various aspects of childbirth and child care. The column ‘Parenting Wisdom’ published regularly on our site, is immensely popular amongst parents of all age groups. My intention is not just about commercial aspects alone, but a humble effort to reach out to all the couples/parents out there and guide, encourage and motivate them in all aspects of childbirth care and parenting,” adds Neeraj.

He has opened a Baby Wellness Store which sells a vast range of baby products such as skin care, toys, activities and games, baby carriers and several others that parents can choose from, while all the relevant information can be found online at his website.
