Power cuts to hit east, south-east Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Residents in south-eastern part of the city will have to bear with intermittent power cuts over the next four days till Wednesday. The reason: Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) overhead lines from the Hoody station will have to be raised in height to accommodate the proposed viaduct of Namma Metro which will come up as part of Phase II.

The work on raising the lines, which are cutting the Metro line path, will be completed by Wednesday, a statement from BESCOM said. Officials said intermittent power cuts will occur between 9am and 5pm from Saturday till Wednesday. Affected areas will include HSR Layout, Jakkasandra, Venkatapura, MLA Layout, Somasundarapalya, Haralur Road, Agara flyover area, Bellandur village, Kaikondrahalli, Kasavanahalli, Bellandur outer ring road, Koramangala, Hosur main road, BTM Layout, Silk Board, Old Madiwala, National Games Village compound, Kendriya Sadana, Challaghatta, NAL road, SR Layout, Rustambagh, Yamalur, Epsilon layout, Kempapura and surrounding areas.
