BENGALURU: A 21-year-old daily wager was arrested by RMC Yard police on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl. The man even admitted the girl to a nearby hospital after she fell unconscious, police said. The arrested is Anil, a native of Bihar. He was working in an under-construction site in RMC Yard for two-and-a-half years.A senior police officer said the victim’s parents, who also hail from Bihar, knew Anil. The girl would often go to his house to play. On Saturday evening, the girl had gone to his house while her parents were out for work.
Anil allegedly sexually assaulted her and this is when she fell unconscious. Scared, Anil rushed the girl to a hospital in Mahalakshmi Layout. He told the hospital staffers that she was his daughter and was suffering from fever. After admitting the girl, Anil escaped. On examining her, doctors found that she had been sexually assaulted and informed the police. “CCTV footage from the hospital revealed the identity of Anil. He has been charged under the POCSO Act and has been handed over to judicial custody. He also confessed to the crime when he was subjected to medical tests,” the officer added.
