BENGALURU: Upset over not becoming the class monitor, a 14-year- old 9th standard student committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Tuesday night.The deceased is identified as Dhruvaraj, who was studying at a private school in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Police said that Dhruvaraj had gone to school as usual on Tuesday and returned home by evening. After dinner, he went to his room and allegedly hanged himself.  


“Preliminary probe has revealed that Dhruvaraj was very studious and wanted to be the class monitor. As he was not selected, he was depressed from the last few days. We are, however, investigating the case from all angles,” the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police, who have registered an unnatural death case, added.
