Submit forms for concessional bus passes before July 31

BENGALURU: IN order to avail Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation’s (BMTC) concessional bus passes, students now need not stand in long queues at bus stands. With BMTC’s new online system being directly integrated with Education Department database, students can submit applications through their educational institutions or upload the e-form themselves.

BMTC Chief Traffic Manager (CTM), in a press release, stated  students at the time of admission can approach the school authority for BMTC bus pass. Students using IVR options in cellphone can upload e-form or log onto the website www.mybmtc.com. 

On receiving application through ‘SATS’ software, BMTC will print the smart card and deliver it to educational institution, if the student is studying between Class 1 and 7 (`150). High school `200 for SCs/STs, `600 for girls and `800 for boys) and college students (`1,100 and `200 for SCs/STs) need to pay for processing fee and smart card on delivery to the postman. The applications should be submitted before July 31, the press release stated.
