8 held for selling drugs, 10kg marijuana seized

The city police on Wednesday arrested eight people in two separate incidents and seized 10kg of ganja.

BENGALURU: Three days after Home Minister G Parameshwara held a meeting with senior police officers to control drug menace, the city police on Wednesday arrested eight people in two separate incidents and seized 10kg of ganja. In the first incident, Bommanahalli police arrested Janardhan (33), Chetan Sharma (46), Bisambar Mandal (34) and Dhaneshwar (46). They all hail from Bihar and Odisha and were residing in Madiwala. Police said Bisambar was nabbed near a college where he was selling drugs. his associates were nabbed from nearby. Eight kilos of drugs were seized from them. 

In the second incident, Subramanyapura police arrested four accused — Iliyas Pasha (50), Irfan Pasha (30), Kabeer Pasha (21) and Faizal Khan (22). They are all residents of Ramanagara and were residing in Kengeri. They were caught near Uttarahalli with 2kg of ganja. The accused had even stolen a two-wheeler.
