BENGALURU: Fight over paying Rs15 for a cigarette cost lives of two brothers in KG Halli police station limits on Wednesday night. The deceased are Amin (30) and his brother Mathin (32), residents of Veerannagudde on Govindapura Main Road in KG Halli and mechanics by profession. According to police, Amin had bought a cigarette from a petty shop around 7.30pm on Wednesday. When the shopowner Ali asked him for money, Amin reportedly told him that he would pay him later.

This led to a heated argument and Amin allegedly assaulted Ali. Ali informed his aides about the incident and they found him at his house around 9 pm and allegedly assaulted him brutally. “Amin’s elder brother Mathin went to his rescue. The gang assaulted him too and fled from the spot. Mathin, who sustained serious injuries, died on the spot, while Amin died at the hospital where he was admitted on Wednesday night,” the police said.
