Pre-University Education Department to deliver question paper online

For the first time, the Department of Pre-University Education has decided to deliver question papers online.

BENGALURU:For the first time, the Department of Pre-University Education has decided to deliver question papers online. This will be implemented on a pilot basis during the PU II supplementary examination to be held from June 29 to July 10. Delivering question papers online was one of the major recommendations made by the high-level committee constituted by the state government in 2016 for conduct of safe exams after question paper leaks were reported during the PU II exam. According to PU officials, two exam centres have been chosen for this project.

DPUE Director C Shikha said, “There will not be any physical transfer of question papers to these examination centres.”The question paper will be sent via email to the chief superintendent of the  centre 2.5 hours before the exam.  They will later have to make arrangements to get the question paper printed by downloading the same.

Officials said the pros and cons of the move will be studied and if successful, it will be implemented in the main PU II exam in the future. Over 2.5 lakh students have registered for this year’s supplementary examination, including 1,000 students at the two centres selected for the pilot basis.
