CHENNAI: The Marg Chennai Family Quiz — an initiative by the Chinmaya Mission to enrich family harmony — will begin from February 14, 2010.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Swami Mitrananda, Acharya of the Chinmaya Mission, Chennai, said that about 80,000 families have already registered for the programme.
The Mission has set a target of bringing in one lakh people for the quiz, which is to be held as an effort to revive family harmony and bond between family members.
The winners of the quiz will be selected through various rounds of elimination.
The final round will be held on May 8, on the occasion of the birthday of Swami Chinmayananda.
The winner will get a car and a family trip to the Himalayas. The backing of school, colleges and other corporate institutions has ensured to bring in the families of students and employees.
“About 15,000 families have registered through the Corporation schools and the registration is free for them,” he said.
The last date for registration is January 26, 2010 and the filled-in forms have to be submitted by January 31. Mitrananda also said that the Mission has planned to take the quiz competition to an international level in 2010. For more details, log on to www.chinmayafamilyquiz.com
