CHENNAI: It was a rare occasion to recollect the achievements of Kalki Krishnamoorthy and Rajaji in literature and politics respectively. “You may not agree with his political decisions, but there’s no doubting his integrity,” noted Tamilaruvi Manian, scholar and founder of Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam, at the anniversary celebrations of Kalki Krishnamoorthy, organised by Kalki Krishnamoorthy Memorial Foundation on Monday. Manian hailed Rajaji as an equal to Gandhi. Speaking about Kalki, the writer who authored the classic Ponniyin Selvan, Manian noted that Kalki was perhaps the only literary figure who had been imprisoned during struggles led by Gandhi.
Rajajiyin Sindhanaigal, a collection of Rajaji’s column Dear Reader in the publication Swarajya was released by the scholar.
