Gang of six kills rowdy in Chengalpet

A six-member gang hacked a history sheeter to death inside an eatery on the Chengalpet Bypass in a suspected case of revenge killing on Saturday night. Chengalpet Taluk Police detained five suspects.

A six-member gang hacked a history sheeter to death inside an eatery on the Chengalpet Bypass in a suspected case of revenge killing on Saturday night. Chengalpet Taluk Police detained five suspects.

Police said Sudhakar (28) of Thattanmalai in Chengalpet was having dinner along with four of his friends in an eatery on Pazhaveli-Chengalpet Bypass around 11 pm on Saturday when the gang arrived in three bikes, barged into the eatery and attacked him with deadly weapons. Police said Sudhakar’s body had a machete pierced through it.

Police said Sudhakar was accused in the murders of Raviprakash, a municipal deputy chairman, in 2012, and Masthan Bai, a black magician, 10 years ago. He was released recently from prison after being detained under the Goondas Act.
