One-day workshop for Railway Police held

A day-long workshop for the Railway Police was held here on Saturday. A total number of 50 railway police personnel, including inspectors and sub-inspectors, participated in the workshop that was held at the Central Railway Station.

The workshop was held on the orders of  Sekar, Additional Director, Railway Police Department. A press note from the department stated that the personnel were trained in handling issues such as abduction of children, harassment against women, investigation and handling of cases pertaining to train accidents in this workshop.

The workshop was particularly aimed at giving an orientation to the persons of Tamil Nadu Special Battalion Force, who are newly inducted to Railway Police Force. They were also given counselling on how to move with general public, the note claimed.Members from NGOs and the department conducted the classes in the workshop.

The workshop was directed based on the guidance provided by DIG Baskaran and SP Kayalvizhi.
