A Run for Everyone

Children, transgenders, corporate employees and differently-abled people all came together at the Run For Inclusion organised by Aide et Action in Chennai, at the Marina Beach on Sunday.

This run, which is the first-of-its kind to be organised by Aide et Action was held simultaneously in four cities in Tamil Nadu and in 58 cities across India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The event was to commemorate World AIDS Day, International Day of Disabled Persons, Human Rights Day and International Day of Human Solidarity.

The resources mobilised through this mega event would be used for quality education of children and enabling better employment opportunities for youths from weaker sections of society.

The organisers said that Chennai saw some of the highest participation in the country. “The participation was overwhelming. In spite of the fact that we did not have any celebrity to flag off the event people from all sections came in huge numbers to spread the cause.”, said Radhika Ramesh, Programme Manager of Aide et Action.
