It’s not often you spot a two-foot tall Krishna. So when shoppers caught a glimpse of not one, but nearly five of them at a recent fancy dress competition in the city — they had to pause and stop for minute and smile. The theme for the contest held last weekend at Shopper’s Stop in Ramee Mall was ‘World Mythology’ and the kids, aged three to five years arrived in all kinds of fun costumes. There was an overjewelled Akbar, complete with dangling necklaces, pink emperor’s cap and a sword to finish, goddess Radha, Lord Indira and even Lord Ganesha’s vahan (mouse)! Perhaps, the only little one that didn’t meet the

mythological criteria was a little girl dressed up as Barbie — but most had to admit, she was just as cute all the same. All the participants received gifts and certificates from the store, as part of the Deepavali event. There was also a drawing contest held earlier in the day for under-10-year-olds on the topic: My favourite festival. No need to guess where the majority vote went on that one!
