If anyone had caught a sight of Rajinikanth at the traditional pre-shoot Pooja for his next film Lingaa, they would have been astounded. Looking fresh, young and supremely fit, the Superstar arrived bright and early for the Pooja at the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore on Friday.
Sources close to the film unit said that a shot for the film will be canned in the next two days involving bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, “Sonakshi will arrive in Mysore on Saturday and will begin sgooting right away. Rajini is looking extremely fit and looked exactly like he did in movies like Raja Chinna Roja, that were shot two decades ago,” said the source.
Neither Sonakshi Sinha nor Anushka Shetty were present for the auspicious start, but producer Rockline Venkatesh and director K S Ravikumar were present along with Rajini’s friend and well-wisher, actor Ambareesh.
The reason that Lingaa’s mahurat was held at the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore is because an extensive portion of the shoot is to be done at the Chamundi Hills as well as the Mysore Palace. It is rumoured that this comprises the ‘period’ section of the film - that has Rajini and Sonakshi playing 40’s style people - while the contemporary portions will be shot with Anushka Shetty in Tamil Nadu and Andhra. Rumours that they were denied to shoot at the Palace were unconfirmed, but it is true that the Superstar will be back on Monday to begin the final round of promotions for Kochadaiiyaan - that releases on Friday.
