Counselling Kicks off at SRM

CHENNAI:  SRM University is all set to open a 50 acre campus in Sikkim during this academic year. Speaking on the sidelines at the counselling of SRM University at Kattankalathur, president, SRM University, P  Sathyanarayanan, also said, “The 150 acre campus in Haryana has already started functioning with engineering and MBA courses.”  He said that the counselling, which began recently would go on till May 24. He also added that out of 1.4 lakh students who took up SRM’s entrance examination, 16 per cent were from Tamil Nadu and 20 per cent were from AP. Sathyanarayanan said this year the most sought after course was ECE and not computer science.

 The students will be competing for 7,000 seats that are available at the campuses in Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Kattangalathur. SRM also plans on opening a law school at its Kattankalathur campus. Nearly 56,250 applicants are from the Southern states, 31,250 from Northern states, 21,250 from Eastern and 16,250 from Western states.
