Footboard Travel Kills Chennai Class Ten Student

A Class X boy heading to school and travelling on the footboard on a crowded MTC bus was run over by the rear wheels of the bus when he lost his grip.

CHENNAI: A Class X boy heading to school and travelling on the footboard on a crowded MTC bus was run over by the rear wheels of the bus when he lost his grip and fell on the road on Thursday. The tragic accident, happened on the Kundrathur-Porur Road when the driver of the 88M route bus applied brakes at Moondram Kattalai.

Police said the victim, Jagdeesh Ramesh, “came under the rear wheels of the bus. Passengers called for an ambulance. But he had already died on the spot,” said an officer of the Traffic Investigation Wing. The boy, a resident of Mananchery near Kundrathur, was studying in a government school in Kovur.
