MTC Bus Runs Over Bike Rider

CHENNAI:A 25-year-old man was run over by an MTC bus on Erukkancherry High Road, Vyasarpadi, around 2.10 pm on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the deceased was identified as Musthafa Khan, (25), a resident of II Cross Street, Pulianthope. Khan was commuting to his office and while overtaking an MTC bus (route 64 C) heading to Manali from Parrys near ASB Marriage Hall, the bus knocked the two-wheeler down. Khan came under the wheels after he skidded and fell down and was crushed to death on the spot.

He was not wearing a helmet, according to Kilpauk Traffic Investigation Wing.

The MTC bus driver Suresh, (30), of RK Pet, Pallipattu, was booked on charges of causing death due to negligence.
