Retired SI held for Obstructing Raid

CHENNAI:A 65-year-old retired special sub-Inspector was arrested by the city police after his alleged involvement was made out while probing a complaint made to the City Police by CBI sleuths from Bengaluru, on Thursday. Police said a six-member CBI team was probing IRCTC bulk ticket booking scam at SK Real Estate office located in the first floor of Anna Plaza in II Avenue, Anna Nagar. The officials who were allowed to get into the office were ousted by a gang claiming to be advocates after disputing the identity of the CBI officials. The gang reportedly assaulted the sleuths and ousted them from the office. The gang left after locking down the office around 4 pm. The team comprising of Anti-Corruption Bureau - Bengaluru Inspector Ramesh preferred a complaint with Anna Nagar Police around 9.30 pm, seeking action against an unknown quintet who could be identified at sight. Pursuing the complaint, a case was registered under various sections  including 341, 294(b), 147, 353, and 506(i) of IPC.
