Railways to introduce 73 POS machines across Bangalore Division

BENGALURU: To facilitate easy booking of tickets at Passenger Reservation Centres after demonetisation, the Bangalore Railway Division will install 73 POS machines. The machines will equip the centres for ticket booking through debit or credit cards.

Briefing newspersons on Wednesday, divisional railway manager, Bangalore Division, Sanjeev Agarwal, said 65 of them would be at PRS Centres at railway stations and eight at parcel booking centres.

In a separate development, AC Chair Car fare on the Chennai Central-Mysore Shatabdi Express (train no. 12007) between Bengaluru and Mysuru has been reduced from Rs 438 to Rs 400 effective from December 20. Also, the fare on the Mysore-Chennai Shatabdi Express (train no 12008) between Mysore City and Bengaluru has been reduced from Rs 368 to Rs 300.
