CHENNAI: Animal activists spent two hours on Tuesday morning searching for the dog that was flung of the terrace in the viral video shot in Chennai. The building was identified as an apartment complex in Kundrathur, where medical student Gautham Sudarshan who has identified in the video resides, as well as classmate Ashish Paul who allegedly shot the video, that has provoked double the horror of animal activists across the country because of its slow motion effect.

"We looked in the bushes where the dog landed in the video and asked neighbours and classmates, but there's no corpse," says activist Antony Rubin who works with the Worldwide Veterinary Service. Rubin accompanied police to the place in the late hours of Monday night as well while investigations were underway, along with fellow activists Shravan Krishnan and Jennifer Murali-Anand. "Some people have told us the dog is dead, others that the dog is missing. But this happened two weeks ago, so there's no way of being sure until we talk to the perpetrators themselves," Rubin adds.

The two were found nowhere in sight when police visited their homes and believed to have fled to their hometowns. However S Peter, Chairman of Madha Medical College where the two are final year students has told their parents that they would be suspended from writing all exams if they do not turn themselves in.

"Though they have been unreachable because their phones have been switched off, their parents told us they will return by the Chairman's deadline of Wednesday morning," Jennifer said.

And then finally, activists hope to locate the animal's body and offer a long pending prayer and burial.
