Police sources said an injury on her left hand and a three-page suicide note detailing her personal problems suggested that it could be suicide. The death came to light on Friday, when Suparna’s neighbours sensed a foul smell from the flat and alerted police. “It appears that she died three days ago,” said a senior police officer. The body was in a decomposed state.
A native of Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district, her family has been living in Chennai. Police sources said Suparna had been mostly staying alone in her flat at Maduravoyal, which she had rented from a cine-stunt master.

The suicide note spoke about how she was struggling to get opportunities in the cine field and also the turmoils in her relationship with a man. “We never expected that she would end her life. She was a talented artiste, but had a lot of personal issues. She used to be active on Facebook previously. But for quite sometime, she wasn’t. She was very bold,” a friend who wished not to be named told Express.
Though she had acted in minor roles in a few Kollywood movies, Suparna was a known face in the households for the TV serials she had been acting in. She had acted in a minor role in Vishal’s Poojai, apart from soaps like Pasamalar. She also hosted a cookery show.
