Customised Meet and Greet services now at Chennai airport

If your child is unaccompanied or your mother happens to get sick while flying in from any part of the world to Chennai.

CHENNAI: If your child is unaccompanied or your mother happens to get sick while flying in from any part of the world to Chennai, just inform the ‘Meet and Greet Services’ at Chennai Airport. They will make arrangements to get them picked up from the aircraft and ensure they reach home safely.

This value added service in both international and domestic terminals was launched this month by Airport Director Deepak Shastri. Customised services, he said, would benefit passengers immensely.

Modelled on ‘marhabba services’ offered at Dubai International Airport, the ones at Chennai would cost the passengers depending upon the packages they choose from, said Ambalika Saikia of the ‘meet and greet services’ project of Globe Ground India, which got the contract.

“We will be charging a minimum `500 for the service in domestic airport and `750 for the international airport. Besides providing porterage services to unaccompanied minors, elders or passengers who are unwell and physically challenged, our officials will also help in clearing airport formalities besides escorting international passengers for check-in and immigration requirements,” she said.

The agency will also be assisting in reservation and purchase of tickets. “We will also provide assistance for hiring a car, taxi, hotel booking, arranging tickets and transportation from the aircraft to the terminal building, she said.

The customised services will be provided in coordination with Airport Authority of India. This will ensure high standards and customer satisfaction, said Shastri.
