When in Rome

CHENNAI: While they didn’t take us around the world, their clothes sure did! Sunday evening saw an exclusive family fashion show by RYA Cosmo Elite Club, at Analaxmi, Egmore.

The theme of the show was ‘Around the world’, and it was judged by star actor Sakshi Agarwal, and popular fashion designers — Nidhi Galada and Monal Jain. After much debate, the best family was awarded to Parag Chowatia while the best couple was given to Dhawal Mohnot. Anil Bhansali bagged the prestigious Mr Elite and Surbahi Kanuga took the Mrs Elite award back home. Other categories included a father-son duo and mother-daughter award, which were won by Swaroop and Kavita Khivasara respectively.

Aashish Kumar Jain, president of the club along with his team including Nitesh Kumbhat, Priya Bhandari, Sony Kothari among many others organised the event, and the hosts Deepika and Reshma kept the audience going.

“The kids were so well-dressed and their attitude on the ramp was wonderful,” smiles Aashish, as he notes that the event has seen families dressed to the T for the occasion. What was common to all costumes was the attention on detail. Decked in kimonos, breezy outfits from Ko Samui and elaborate costumes from Egypt — it was hard to pick which one was best!

The evening ended with hearty laughs, a vote of thanks by Lalit Kanuga and a hearty meal at the restaurant.
