CHENNAI: Four Persons who entered the factory of WS Industries (India) Limited on Mount Poonamallee High Road near Porur and damaged the machineries, have been arrested.
According to an FIR registered by the SRMC police on February 22, one Perumalsamy and his son Jayapal, who was the former local councilor and his henchmen entered the factory on January 27 with deadly weapons and ransacked properties.
They demolished the canteen building and the shed on the west side of the factory using JCB earthmovers and bulldozers. The damage caused was stated to be worth several crores of rupees.
In this connection, the police arrested Dineshkumar, Yuvaraj, Sathishkumar and Chandrasekaran and they were remanded in judicial custody.
A special team was formed to nab the main accused Perumalsamy and his son Jayapal who are absconding. A property dispute, which is pending before the Supreme Court, is believed to be the trigger for the mayhem.
