CHENNAI: A photo of a woman, who netizens claim, is DIG (Prisons) D Roopa, with O Panneerselvam and Ma Foi K Pandiarajan has been doing the rounds on social media. Accompanied by the message ‘Ippo Puridha’, social media detectives imply that the recent ‘exposé’ by Roopa, who alleged that a bribe of 2 crore had been offered by VK Sasikala to officials in Bengaluru Central Prison for preferential treatment, has connections with the OPS faction, making the motives behind the ‘exposé’ clear.

However, there may be a minor detail that the social media detectives, in all of their wisdom, might have overlooked- the woman in the picture is not Roopa. She is, in fact, an OPS supporter by name, Arthachandra, who simply happened to post the picture online.

Speaking to CE, OPS’s IT wing secretary G Ramachandran said, “She had posted the picture on social media long back. Some have intentionally dug up the photo and have misused it.”
Meanwhile, DIG Roopa was reportedly transferred to road safety and traffic right after she made the allegations.
