CHENNAI: Actress Bhuvaneshwari’s 23-year-old son was arrested on Tuesday on the charges of stalking and harassing an MBBS girl student who had rejected his proposals.

Police said Midhun Srinivasan, pursuing a bachelor’s course in a private college, allegedly threatened to torch the girl and vandalised a few things when he visited her house recently.

The complainant has been known to Midhun since their school days. “He started stalking her in the social media and when she avoided him, kept going to her college and harassed her. Two weeks ago, he went to her house and threatened to set her ablaze after he broke a few things,” said police inspector Ravi quoting the complainant.

After the girl lodged a complaint, the police registered a case against him under sections 354-B, 448, 427, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act (penalty for harassment of women).

Midhun has been remanded in judicial custody by a court.
