CHENNAI: J Kavin Malar of Besant Nagar, a journalist with ‘Kungumam Thozhi’ of Dinakaran Group, has moved the Madras High Court with an application to punish Anbarasan, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime Cell, Central Crime Branch and the police Commissioner A K Viswanathan under the Contempt of Courts Act for not obeying the orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court.

In an application, the journalist submitted that the High Court, while dismissing the advance bail plea from S Ve Shekher, actor, on May 10, had directed Anbarasan to proceed with the case. However, he did not take any action against Shekher. The case against Shekher related to a derogatory Facebook post written by his friend making offensive remarks against women journalists.

Meanwhile, it was telecast in the media that he met Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan in the presence of police personnel.

On June 10, it was telecast that Shekher was attending and voting at the film producers election with police escort. Instead of arresting the accused, the police is providing escort to him, she contended.
