CHENNAI: Three days after a group of college students hijacked an MTC bus, city police arrested ten people including eight college students in this connection.
The arrested - E Deva, 20 and R Santhosh, 23 had graduated from a city college last year and the other arrested are N Jayakumar, 20, R Vijayakumar, M Vijay, G Ajay, P Singarasu, G Nandakumar, S Johnston and R Raghu Ranjith all 19 years old.
On Friday, a bunch of college students boarded the bus when it halted near Pachaiyappa's College and another 20 other students coming in motorbikes, followed the bus and blocked the bus. The entire traffic on the road came to a halt. The students were raising slogans and scaring away the motorists and pedestrians. The conductor alerted the police who rushed to the spot and nabbed three students.
On the same day, the police managed to nab N Dinesh, 19 of Anna Nagar, J Ezhaiarasan, 19 from Tiruvallur, both students of Bcom and LGaneshan, 18 from Ambattur, a first-year student of BCA.
