Hello Professor

City-based college students wish these influencers were their teachers

Inputs from Roshne Balasubramanian, Vaishali Vijaykumar and Sayantika Bhowal

As of June 2018, he has made 38 foreign trips to six continents, visiting 55 countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When almost everyone is ridiculing him for wasting government money, I admire his Neighbourhood First Policy and Act East Policy, which has done considerably well for India. It also includes our recent inclusion in Shangai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). I wish Modiji was a professor at my university teaching International Relations.

I have always wanted Malala Yousafzai to take one of the Psychology subjects for me. She would be the ideal teacher considering her strength and values, and her experiences. And of course, her humour can make anything fun to learn.

Sanjushree V H,  20, Ethiraj College for Women
MS Dhoni. His calm nature even during the most testing situations has turned more than a million heads. His objectivity during the decision-making process can be seen in his track record. He continues to inspire the youth across the world with his leadership skills. He balances both private and public life. I will have a great learning experience if he tutors me on Sports Psychology: Resilience.

Arvind Peter, 21, SRM
Being a musician myself, Steve Vai teaching me lessons in ‘Guitar improvisations and soloing techniques’  would be amazing. I personally feel that he has an unorthodox way of improvising in a solo, which is out of the box; complex music is played like its a piece of cake, making him look as though he was made for this.

Kavya Varghese,

I would be thrilled if Shashi Tharoor were my teacher. As a student of BA English, I’m positive that any subject would be extraordinarily fascinating if he were to teach. Wit and sarcasm are a part and parcel of his speech, and that skill, when used correctly, guarantees the attention of the listeners. As someone who struggles to focus on just about everything, I’d be ecstatic if Shashi Tharoor
taught me.

Srivarshini R K, 19,  Women’s Christian College
I think S  Aravind would be a good physics teacher. He explains tough concepts like mechanics and electromagnetism better than anyone else. Having watched his shows, I can say his explanations come with the right pinch of humour. Unlike in classrooms, where teachers only explain the concept and its daily application in our lives, comedian SA’s classroom will be full of discussion and funny examples. He always tries to make you feel better even if you are not good in a particular subject.

Robin Sharma is one of a kind. I admire him for who he is and how he looks at life as a blessing. The way he portrays life as a journey in his books through his own examples and acquired knowledge is inspiring. His book, Who Will Cry When You Die, is about how beautiful we are, why only we have the right to decide what we want to do and be in life and how we can be satisfied with ourselves. If he was my professor, everything would seem easier because of his method of explaining things.

Vasantha Priya Raj,
 23, DG Vaishnav College
Motivational speaker Les Brown teaching Neuro Linguistics would be amazing. He’d teach us how to change the world with words. He’s an iconic speaker who has truly worked his way through difficulties and proved himself as a world famous speaker. He is the right choice to impart the subject along with generous doses of motivation, something that every student looks for in a teacher.
