Days after more than 71 kids died due to a shortage of oxygen supply at Gorakhpur Medical College, a family in South-west Delhi has alleged that they lost their new born baby girl as the hospital failed to provide the required oxygen supply.

According to the police, the matter is under investigation as the report of the post-mortem is awaited. Rao Tula Ram Hospital which comes under Delhi government has refuted the allegation.

According to the family, the baby was delivered on Monday afternoon at Delhi government's Rao Tula Ram hospital. During the night, the baby suddenly turned blue and was not found to be breathing. "We immediately called the doctors as we saw her face turning blue.

There was some problem with the oxygen supply," alleged Brijesh Singh, her father. Later, when the family informed the doctors after a delay doctors started treating the baby and declared her dead.

On the other side, the Hospital has said that there was no lack of oxygen supply and baby died due to breathing problem.

"There was no shortage of oxygen supply in the hospital. The baby was born healthy and our doctors were monitoring her continuously. The body has been sent for the post-mortem and we are waiting for the report," said Dr Sangeeta Basu, medical superintendent, Rao Tula Ram hospital.
