NEW DELHI: The Delhi Municipality Elections have been postponed by a day to April 23. According to a statement from the Delhi State Election Commission, the delay is on account of CBSE exams concluding on April 22, the earlier date for these elections.

The elections hold importance as national parties such as the BJP and Congress have been pitching them as a prestige issue. BJP National President, Amit Shah and veteran Congress leader and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will be holding rallies to gain support for their parties.

The election is looking at a three way fight between the Aam Aadmi Party, Indian National Congress and the BJP. These elections are also the litmus test for the Aam Aadmi Party's performance as the ruling party in the Delhi Assembly.
