NEW DELHI: A senior advocate allegedly raped a woman lawyer at his chamber in south Delhi's Saket court, police said on Sunday. The accused lawyer, who is in his 50s, has been held.
He was arrested from south Delhi's Sangam Vihar and later produced before the Saket court, police said.
In her statement to the police, the woman said that the accused sexually assaulted her while he was in an inebriated condition, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Romil Baaniya. The accused lawyer's chamber was in the same complex where the woman worked, said police.
The woman informed the police of the incident on Saturday late night, the DCP said. The statement has been recorded and a medical examination has been conducted, he said. The chamber, where the alleged incident took place, has been sealed and the forensic and crime teams have completed inspecting the spot, said police.
