Delhi Golf Club in soup for felling trees

After an inspection report revealed that the trees were illegally felled inside the club, the Delhi forest department filed a police complaint against the Delhi Golf Club.

DELHI: Delhi forest department filed a police complaint against the Delhi Golf Club for allegedly violating the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act on Tuesday after an inspection report of the department found trees were illegally felled inside the club.

“The inspection team, comprising of four officials of the forest department, made a site visit to the club and submitted its report. The inspection report confirmed that pits were being dug and logs of several sizes were being dumped in it. It further said, logs already dug out manually from the pits at the site are numbered and lying at the site,” said the CM office in a statement.

The inspection team dug out 425 logs from the club premises.
