Eamcet web options to begin on August 30

Certificate verification in progress; first year classes from Sept 15

As the certificate verification for engineering college admissions has been going on on a satisfactory note in spite of Polytechnic All Lecturers Association (PALA) of Seemandhra boycotting duties at the counselling centres, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has decided to commence the exercise of web options by candidates on August 30 and   first-year classes by September 15.

The exercise of web options had earlier been scheduled for August 22 but was postponed amidst protests and boycott of duties at the counselling centres by polytechnic college lecturers in protest against the Centre’s decision to bifurcate the state. Twenty of the 39 counselling centres in the two regions continue to report nil attendance and the process has not begun at all in Anantapur and Vizinagaram districts. On the other hand, counselling at 22 centres in Telangana has been smooth.

However, the number of candidates who attended the certificate verification in  Seemandhra is less than that in Telangana. About 38,870 candidates from Seemandhra   and 41,494 from Telangana attended the verification. On Monday,5,764 candidates attended certificate verification in Seemandhra and 5,372 in Telangana.

Rao said they were making alternative arrangements in Seemandhra to expedite the verification process. The APSCHE has decided to SMS all the candidates those who missed the verification asking them to attend  scrutiny at the nearest counselling centre.

APSCHE set up an additional counselling centre at Mohan Degree College at Kakinada on Monday.
