Regularisation of Banjara hills government land cancelled

The government has cancelled the regularisation of an 896 sq yard land worth crores of rupees on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills in the city.

The government has cancelled the regularisation of an 896 sq yard land worth crores of rupees on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills in the city.

The land, in bits, belonged to the government and was occupied by one K Rekha Rao but the government regularised the land in August 2010 in her favour at a nominal fee of Rs 1.07 crore.

Later, the government realised that Rekha Rao’s claim to the land was false and decided to cancel the regularisation made done in favour of Rekha Rao. The government issued orders to this effect on Friday.

The government permitted the Hyderabad district collector to refund the amount paid by the applicant towards execution of conveyance deed and cancel the conveyance deed executed in favour of K  Rekha Rao.  “The tahsildar, in his report in 2010, said that there was no such premises mentioned by the applicant.

It is fictions and created for the purpose of laying a claim over the subject land,” the orders said citing the grounds for cancellation of the deed.

There were allegations in the past that the valuable government land was illegally alienated by the Hyderabad district administration.

Now, the government rectified its mistake in one case.
