Mentally-challenged Woman Molested in Hyderabad on World Disabled Day

A 22-year-old mentally-challenged woman was molested by a 24-year-old man in Alwal on Tuesday which also happens to be the World Disability Day.

A 22-year-old mentally-challenged woman was molested by a 24-year-old man in Alwal on Tuesday which also happens to be the World Disability Day. Police said the accused dragged her into nearby bushes and attempted to rape the woman. However, she raised an alarm scaring off the man. Police are yet to arrest the man.

According to the police, the woman was walking towards the CRPF Road from Arundhati Nagar when the accused Saikumar, spotted her. He stopped his motorcycle beside her and dragged her into the nearby bushes and attempted to rape her. “But she started shouting and raised an alarm which scared him away. Lot of people also reached out to her,” SV Hari Krishna, inspector of Police, Alwal, said. Police booked a case of molestation under section 354A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Man Booked on Charges of Raping Girlfriend Tukaramgate police booked a case on Tuesday against a 22-year-old man for allegedly raping his girlfriend. The 18-year-old girl was spurned by her lover on suspicion of infidelity. He also assaulted her with boulders.

She said she was already two months pregnant but he claimed she was not impregnated by him.

Police informed that the woman and her former boyfriend Ravi, a car driver, had recently met in Manikchand Hills. The girl, in her complaint, said he questioned her fidelity and said she was not impregnated by him. “They met on Sunday and had a fight about it. He assaulted her with boulders,” B Sudershen Reddy, inspector of Police, Tukaram Gate, said.

The girl, however, decided to file a complaint against him and approached the police on Tuesday. “She has been sent for medical examination after which the rape charges will be proved,” the police official said. Police booked a case under sections 417, 376 and 324 of the IPC for cheating and rape against him.
