Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy launched the seventh round of land distribution here on Friday.

Speaking at the function, he said 76 lakh acres of land had been distributed to the poor in the state so far. During the current seventh phase of land distribution, around 1.3 lakh acres of agricultural land will be distributed to the landless poor.

He said that around 5,000 tmcft of water from the Godavari and 500 tmcft from the Krishna were flowing into sea. “If this water can be tapped and utilised properly, not a single acre of agricultural land will  dry up,” he said. Earlier, he launched a website on government lands and revenue records, making around 4.50 crore revenue records and details of government lands accessible to people. He also inaugurated a new office building of the chief commissioner of land administration (CCLA) built at a cost of `4 crore. Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy and others were present.
