Good news to Telugu people who wish to send messages on their mobile phones in their mother tongue.
The state Information Technology department has developed a software, Telugu Mata, in Telugu which will enable mobile phone users to send SMSes in their mother tongue. The application will be formally launched on December 30, IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has said. The keyboard can be installed and used in all applications on Android, I-pad and I-phone devices.
Telugu Mata allows one to type in Telugu on the phone or any Android device where in Telugu letters are realised by single key-strokes (instead of multi-taps).
All characters are accommodated in two layers unlike in other applications. The software can be freely downloaded from Telugu Vijayam website www.teluguvijayam.org.
