IED awareness course for cops

Head constables and constables attached to all police stations in the city will get special training in handling improvised explosive devices and taking security measures.

Joint commissioner of police, City Armed Reserve, B Malla Reddy  launched a capsule course for the head constables and police constables working in the law and order wing at the City Security Wing (CSW) office at Goshamahal here on Thursday.

“In view of the twin bomb blast which took place at Dilsukhnagar, it has been decided to conduct awareness course in IEDs and security to all head constables and police constables.

Two persons, one head constable and one police constable from each police station, will participate in the training session and they will get an awareness on IED and security. During the month-long training session, all the police constables will receive training,’’ Malla Reddy said.

Sixty-four police constables and head constables from 60 police stations in Hyderabad participated in the security awareness training programme on Thursday.
